Junk With Wheels
Inverted "V" pattern, GMAW (MIG) weld. These are tuff!! Getting better though. If any experienced welders read this, please critique.
Those look like most of my verticals. I to use the inverted "V". I'm going to try the Triangle pattern next time I'm doing one. Basically the same except you come across the bottom. I'm thinking it might give it a more "stack of dimes" look. I know the V works well, maybe just a little longer hold on the sides, or A little shorter of a V..if that makes since..
I assume you're welding up, as in from bottom to top? My vert down welds are fine, but I'm preparing for some structural stuff that will require more penetration. I've also tried the triangle but seem to get a very tall weld, still plenty strong with fantastic penetration, just tall. After three cross section cuts on this sample I found a bit of inclusion, so I'll try a little lowe gas pressure tomorrow and see where that gets me. Thanks for the input.
Yes, vertical up welds. You'll have to let me know how they turn out. Always good to learn a new trick.
Wes, I might not be a smart man and I ain't a welder's backside . . . but I know 'pretty' work when I see it. If that were mine and I'd picked it up from my designated hot finger specialist, I'd be stoked and not putting paint on it . . . ever !!! Tidy stuff man, like doctors who do 'pretty' work with stitches . . . be happy man !!!
Thanks man. I try to excel at what ever I do. Kaizen and what have you. Just doesn't always work, lol!!
looks pretty good to me bro!
You need to hang more on it sides as cross over the middle faster then you will get a flatter weld
