Not charging?

This might have something to do with it. Probably the hottest one I've seen. When it failed. the windings burnt a 1/4" into the lamination. On older bikes I never go in this far without replacing rotor, stator, and voltage regulator. It just makes sense. This thing shorted out and got extremely hot, who knows what damage the other components could have sustained.

  1. No kidding. My troublehead stopped charging the battery. After following the testing procedure in the shop manual, my stator has crapped the bed. Replacing all the above and since the inner primary is off, gonna do the main shaft sprocket. I'll post some pics.

    1. Right on! I love Cycle Electric components, Carl and the gang really have their act together. And remember, NO SHARP BLOWS ON YOUR ROTOR (i.e. no impact wrench)!!! That's a lesson you don't want to learn the hard way, lol!
