Memorial Day Ride

Put on about 250mi today. The weather was perfect! The monsoon season we've had seems to have washed all the winter off the roads. We rode down to the marina at Warsaw KY for lunch. River road to and from Vevay IN is always a nice ride.

Here is the view from the marina of the locks on the great muddy water(Ohio river) at Markland.

As usual, I was the only Troublehead in attandance!!

Scott and Carla, this was the first time I've ridden with this couple. Great peeps for sure! Hope to ride with them again.

Diesel pusher waiting to be lowered so their down stream journey can continue.

Down stream view from the bridge over the dam.

Power House, Ghent KY, as seen from the IN side of the river.

Those fertile fields are never far away....

Rolling into historic Madison, IN. The recently restored gilded dome of the Jefferson Co. Court house can be seen in the left side of the frame.
Entering Vevay on SR56 in scenic Switzerland Co. IN. It's about 20mi upstream from Madison. Another dead little river town kept alive only by welfare checks, gambling revenue, and methamphetamines.

  2. You may be visiting the Ohio, but I know you're "dreaming 'bout the moonlight on the Wabash..."
You got the good weather this time, 'twas a cool, cloudy rainy Memorial Day up north.
