Ramble Tamble 2014, The Bikes

I was seriously distracted by the mornings challenges, broken exhaust mount, missing rear exhaust bolt, always present parental responsibilities and so on. So distracted in fact that I nearly passed on Ramble Tamble 2014. Suffice to say I'm glad I went!!! The promise of seeing such friendly faces as DaveCraig, and Eric, among others was enough to pry me from my morning funk and send Caroline and me blasting south on I65 toward the Ville. Caroline was running like a champ when we crossed the great muddy water via the Kennedy. Soon we exited the super slab and descended in to the bowels of the biggest small town in America and began to dissect the city in search of the Smoketown compound. A few wrong turns and a short jaunt against traffic on a one way street reminded me why I typically avoid leaving the the comfort and logic of our stellar interstate transit system when traversing large metropolitan areas. But we stayed the course, battling the area plan commission and faceless throngs of people who are otherwise disinterested in raw horse power running for roses, but who will never miss an opportunity to self medicate. The sight of several dozen tents staked and tied haphazardly within a fenced lot in an old industrial part of town was enough to capture my attention and lead me to the compound via an alley and a walk in gate where the fence had been separated seemingly unintentionally. We had landed!
